Historical information
The mineral waters were discovered in 1874 and therapeutically used in 1879. In 1887, an establishment for therapeutic baths (29 cabins and 2 pools) was established in 1887; Palace Hotel, the Central Ward for baths and the Casino were built from 1911 to 1914.
Climate
The climate is continental, with Mediterranean influence, with cool summers and mild winters. The annual average temperature is 11.1„aC. The winds blow rarely. The rainfalls are moderate (800mm a year).

Warm baths with mineral waters containing iodine and sulphur, fir-tree essence baths, mud packing, pneumonia-therapy, mineral waters internal cure, electro¬therapy, hydrotherapy, Kinetic-therapy, massage, underwater massage, internal cure with mineral water, walks, solarium.
Natural Curative Factors
The hypo-tonic mineral waters contain sulphur, chlorine, iodine, bromine, sodium, and bicarbonate with 38.3%o mg bro¬mine, and 41.8%o mg iodine. The sulphurous salty waters concentration is 160 g%o and they contain 0.350g%o sulphurous hydrogen. The mineral waters for internal cure have a low concentration of sulphurous hydrogen and chlorine but they are rich in bicarbonates.

“Gheorghe Petre” Archeology and Art Collection (archeology, feudal art, numismatics); Govora Monastery (14th century) - here was printed the first Romanian legislative book in 1640; Horezu Monastery (1693), built by Constantin Brancoveanu-(the most refined example of Romanian architecture, has been included in UNESCO patrimony); the Monastery with a Wonder Icon, built in the 17th century; Turnu Monastery (1676); Pons Vetus Roman ruins in Caineni; “Turnu Rosu” Olt River Gorge (the 47km gorge, longest in the country, carved by Olt River between Capatanii, Lotrului and Fagaras Mountains); the Museum in Bujoreni (the church, the traditional houses and costumes); Polovraci cave; Ramnicu Valcea town: Art Museum, “Anton Pann” Memorial House, “Cetatuia” Hermitage (painted by Tattarescu in 1853).

Geographic position
The spa is located at 360 m over the sea level, in the lower Carpathian Mountains, on the river Hinta valley, 2o km far from Ramnicu Valcea.

Infectious contagious diseases, venereal diseases, malign tumors, hemorrhage, pregnancy from the 3rd month on, psychic disorders, and tuberculosis.
